Week 3: Performance Load – Activity

An example of kinematic load in day to day life would be that of a slot machine. When slot machines were first popular you had to insert coins and pull a lever to enter your chance. Now you can use a player card and just push a button. This is a great example of a design evolving kinematically to benefit the users experience.

Another example is keyless car entry. By using the click of a button to unlock a car door we’ve made it quicker and easier to access these vehicles.

Another example is that of performance load in general. Be switching to using bar codes companies, shops and other establishments have alleviated the stress of having to remember prices and inventory off the top of their head. This allows stress free working for the employees and better inventory records for the company.
